Grads Shine at PA Junior Academy of Science

On Monday, May 21, four Saint Joe’s seniors presented and received awards at the Pennsylvania Junior of Academy of Science (PJAS) state competition held at Penn State. There were over 800 judges and 3000 participants from grades 7-12. Four seniors presented their research in front of a panel of judges. Emma Youngmark and Max Wortmen were awarded a 2nd award. Katie McGraw and Peter Forstmeier were awarded 1st awards. Peter also received a perfect score recognition and an award for PJAS Excellence. He received a plaque and a check for $125.00. Congratulations to these outstanding graduates! Next year the program will be open to select underclassmen as well as seniors!

Hottest Ticket in Town: Pop-up Dueling Piano Bar on June 21

If you’re not a golfer, or even if you are, another exciting Saint Joe’s fundraiser is coming soon. This event is unique and typically only available in bigger cities: On Thursday, June 21, Saint Joe’s will host a pop-up dueling piano bar, featuring The Flying Ivories Dueling Pianos at Hyatt Place in Downtown State College. Dueling Pianos is one-night only from 7-9 PM.

Described as a rock-and-roll, all-request singalong that’s part music and part comedy, the evening promises to be fun and memorable. Proceeds benefit Saint Joe’s and will help to provide financial aid, support our curriculum, upgrade classroom materials and lab equipment, and more.

Four Wolves Among CDT’s Inspiring Athletes Semifinalists

Congratulations to student-athletes Sera Mazza, Julia Cusatis, Jack Mangene and Caleb Dowling for being named semifinalists for the CDT’s Inspiring Athletes Awards. Finalists and winners will be announced at Sunday’s ceremony at the Galen & Nancy Dreibelbis Auditorium at the Mount Nittany Medical Center. Read the full story.
