The boys will be playing Northern Cambria today in a home game in Orchard Park. They’ll be returning next week with games against Harrisburg Academy and Belleville Mennonite. Let’s wish them luck!
The girls defeated Johnstown Christian School in a muddy battle 6-0 after a tough loss to Troy last week. Adda Fegley led the way with 4 goals, and Clare Marsh scored 2. Clare also had 3 assists and Riley Marflak had 1. The defense was led today by Abby Bulick, Meg Bolich and Lauren Ott.
The girls have their last game of the season at home today at 3:00 at Orchard Park. Come out and cheer the girls on to victory!
The golf team won their second consecutive District VI Championship with a team score of 320. Jack Mangene took home the first place individual championship with a score of 72.
The boys are back in action today at the Ebensburg Country Club; they are competing for a chance to return to the state tournament this year. Jack Mangene and Matt Steyers will also be competing at the Western Individual Regional Tournament at Tom’s Run on October 15th for a shot to go to states!
Last Wednesday, the girls hosted Juniata in their annual Pink Out match. Juniata took the JV match in 3 and SJCA won the Varsity match in 3. Our student section came out in force to participate in the Pink Out!
Yesterday, Wolf volleyball fell victim to the Glendale Vikings on Tuesday, despite strong showings from Juniors Maggie Mangene, Ruthanna McMurtrie, Emma Mallison and Senior Michaela Maynard. The girls will host Williamsburg today for the Homecoming match.
On a mud-soaked course, Sera Mazza led wire-to-wire for a win at the Ridgway Invitational. She was clear of the field before she crested the first hill, a little over a half mile into the race. Kate Youngmark joined her on the podium with a 15th place finish.
On the boys side, Carter Kauffman came within a whisker of matching Sera’s efforts; he led for most of the race, only to be passed in the last 600m. He held on for second place; Josh Hershbine joined him with an award-winning race as he finished in 11th place. Aidan Cross, Leland Calistri and Kadan Shirk rounded out the scoring five, which earned the team 13th place.
The Wolves will be in action on Thursday, October 11 for their annual Homecoming meet at Oak Hall Regional Park.
