COLLEGE-LEVEL COURSES AT SAINT JOE'S

Students at Saint Joe’s can begin their college careers in high school through dual enrollment. In fact, students may potentially graduate with a total of 39 college credits—almost a full year at the college/university level.

Dual enrollment allows Saint Joe’s faculty members who hold a master’s or doctorate degree to teach the college courses.  The syllabi and curricula match the requirements of the college/university, and have been approved by the chairs at the respective institutions. Dual enrollment courses fulfill requirement for Saint Joe’s graduation.

SAINT JOE’S HAS DUAL ENROLLMENT AGREEMENTS WITH:

The University of Pittsburgh

Saint Francis University

Mt. Aloysius College

Juniors and seniors may register for the course(s) and pay a minimum amount for the college credit.  The cost is approximately $50-$60 per credit as compared to $470 – $1000 or more depending on the higher level institutions. In one science course, students are expected to take a national exam that is worth 20% of the final grade.  All courses receive credit and grades based on teacher evaluations and assessments.

-Business in a Global Society
College Chemistry with lab
-College Biology with lab
-Elementary Spanish II
-Intermediate Spanish I

Mt. Aloysius College:
-Intro to Literature
-Intro to Statistics
-Calculus
-World Civilization since 1500
-U.S. History through 1877

Students and parents are thrilled by this unique opportunity, which offers not only college credit, but more importantly, experience with college-level course work. In addition, parents appreciate the opportunity for their students to accrue credit for minimal cost.

Transcripts are delivered to each student’s choice of college directly from the dual enrollment college/university. It is not required that students attend the college/university from which they receive credit.
