Michael Creavey is a native of Dillsburg, PA and received his bachelor’s degree in history with a minor in theology and religious studies at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. After receiving a commission in the United States Army through Georgetown University’s ROTC program, he served for over 8 years in the Army Reserve and the Pennsylvania National Guard attaining the rank of captain. While an Army Reserve officer, Mike deployed to Baghdad in 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
In addition, he also spent one year in priestly formation as a seminarian for the Diocese of Harrisburg and studied philosophy and theology at Mount Saint Mary’s Seminary. Mike then served for two years as Director of Youth & Young Adult Ministries at Saint Katharine Drexel Church in Mechanicsburg, PA and for two years at his home parish of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton as the youth and young adult ministry director and the coordinator of the parish Confirmation and vacation bible school programs.
In addition to his duties at St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy, Mike is the creator and host of “The Ever Ancient, Ever New Show”, a bi-weekly youth and young adult themed radio program airing on AM720 WHYF, Holy Family Radio in the Harrisburg area. He also hosts “The Gracious Guest Show” podcast and serves as the faculty advisor to the SJCA Radio Club.
