French & Arabic

Rita Mounzer received her B.A. in teaching of the French language and literature from the Lebanese University – Faculty of Literature & Human Sciences. She obtained her M.A. in Secondary Education Teaching of French language & Literature from the Lebanese University – Faculty of Education.  In the Summer of 2016, she completed Penn State’s STARTALK Arabic Academy Professional Development Program.

In Lebanon, Rita taught French as a first language, and she also taught in an institute for Nursing Care and education. She had training sessions for “La prise en charge des enfants en difficultes scolaires” (Care for children with learning difficulties) from the University of Saint Joseph, Beirut, Lebanon, and she also had training sessions for “Quels usages pedagogiques de l’approche par les competences” (Practices used to approach teaching skills), from the General Secretariat of Catholic Schools in Lebanon. Rita is fluent in Arabic and French.

She enjoys theater and likes to implement it in her teaching.  Rita lives in State College with her husband and two daughters.
