Serving Others
Service is the fourth of the Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy pillars.
Serving the church and the community is the privilege of all Saint Joseph’s students throughout their high school career. The entire student body accumulates more than 5,000 service hours annually, including individual and group efforts such as volunteering with local non-profit organizations, teaching CCD, peer-ministry, clothing drives, and more.
The Saint Joseph's Christian Service Program requires that Saint Joseph Catholic Academy students complete 25 hours of approved Christian service (community service) each year and prepare their reflection paper on this experience (click on orange button). The Christian Service Program helps students become aware of responsibility to reach out to those in need in our parishes, local communities, and beyond.
Because the Christian Service Program encourages students to contribute to a variety of organizations and causes, each year’s service hours must represent at least two different events or service opportunities.
Looking for Opportunities for Community Service?
The Saint Joseph's Service Club and Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Club offer many opportunities for students to gain their service hours. Students may also engage in Christian service as part of Saint Joseph Catholic Academy's National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society efforts.
