Synopsis
This musical based on the New York City newsboy strike of 1899. When young newspaper sellers are exploited by John Pulitzer, the owner and publisher of the New York World, they set out to enact change and are met by the ruthlessness of big business. In 2012 musical was nominated for eight Tony Awards and won two, including Best Original Score.
Behind the Curtain
Join us for preview evening of song, cocktails, and snacks on Friday, April 25 from 7-9 PM, at the Boal Barn Theatre. The cast and crew of Newsies, along with the Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy A Cappella Ensemble, will perform songs from the production, as well as, other memorable tunes. Cost: $30 per person.
