Opportunities in the Fine Arts

Saint Joseph Catholic Academy offers a variety of extracurricular and co-curricular opportunities for students to gain exposure to and skills in the visual arts and performing arts.

Below is summarizes our more popular opportunities:

Inking Wolves Club 
All Saint Joe’s students with an interest in improving inking skills and drawing habits are welcome to join this club.  The theme for this club was inspired by Inktober by Jake Parker.  Innovative drawings and pieces demonstrate exceptional talent are eligible for submission to the Diocesan Art Show and the Saint Joseph Catholic Academy Art Show, held as part of the Spring Fine Arts Night.  For more information, contact the club faculty advisor, contact Leann Reisinger at lreisinger@sjcacademy.org.

Crafts Club 
All Saint Joseph’s students with an interest in crafting are welcome to join this club.  Projects are students driven and may include textile, decorative, paper, functional, and fashion crafts. Pieces created by students that demonstrate exceptional talent may be eligible for submission to the Diocesan Art Show and the Saint Joseph Catholic Academy Art Show, held as part of the Spring Fine Arts Night.  For more information contact the club’s faculty advisor, Mrs. Alyson Miller at amiller@sjcacademy.org.

Acapella Choir
Acappella music is performed by singers without any musical instruments. All students with an interest in acapella are welcome to join this choir.  The Acapella Choir performs at school functions, community events, and at the Spring Fine Arts Night. Small Group Acapella Choir
The Small Group Acapella Choir consists of 8-10 selected individuals who have heightened singing talent.  Students must audition and be chosen for this group. Practices for this choir group generally occur each week on one day before school. The Small Group Acapella Choir performs at school functions, community events, and at the Spring Fine Arts Night. All School Musical
All Saint Joe's students are invited to be part of the musical.  Past musical performances include Fame, Into the Woods, Sound of Music, Oliver, The Little Mermaid, and Grease.  Auditions generally take place in the second semester, with practices beginning early in the third semester.  Students may also serve as stage crew for the production.  The production generally takes place in May.
