Opportunities in the Fine Arts

Saint Joseph Catholic Academy offers a variety of course, as well as extracurricular and co-curricular opportunities, for students to gain exposure to, as well as experience and skills in, the the fine arts.

Visual Arts Opportunities

The Saint Joseph's visual arts curriculum offers a variety of introductory and advanced courses for students seeking instruction in drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography.  Advanced students may work to create a portfolio of pieces that may be submitted for an AP score.  Click on the blue "Visual Arts Courses" button to learn more about Saint Joseph's visual art courses.

In addition to course work in the visual arts, Saint Joseph's offers club opportunities for students with talent and/or interest in the visual arts. Click on the blue "Fine Art Clubs" button to learn more about these popular clubs.

Innovative drawings and visual art pieces demonstrate exceptional talent are eligible for submission to the annual Diocesan Art Show and the Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy Art Show.  The Art Show is generally held in May as part of the Spring Fine Arts Night.

Performing Arts Opportunities

Saint Joseph's offers introductory courses in theatre and vocal music.  Students of all grade levels are eligible to enroll.  For more information about these courses click on the blue "Performing Arts Courses" button.

In addition to course work, Saint Joseph's offers club opportunities for students with talent and/or interest in the performing arts. Click on the blue "Fine Art Clubs" button to learn more about these popular clubs.

Further, Saint Joseph's students of all grade levels are invited to participate in the All School Musical.  Performing roles are assigned based on audition.  Support for production is always welcome. For more information, click on the blue "Musical" button.

Students enrolled in the a capella course and the a capella small group showcase their talents and vocal growth at the annual Spring Fine Arts Night and the graduation ceremony.  These vocal groups also perform throughout the year at local venues.
